Tully's Picks on site right now
A hot new shipment of French wine has just landed - and here's the arrivals our buyer Tully is loving.
"We know that the glory of French wine isn’t anything new, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t be exciting. It’s not an easy task finding the really good stuff (after all, France produces more than twice the volume of wine than here Down Under) - so when we discover something special, we want to tell you about it.
We’ve just landed a shipment that's sure to get corkscrews twitching, and with the silly season right at our doorstep this couldn’t come at a better time. Ready yourself a glass, let’s dive into some of the highlights."
Château Moulin Noir Montagne St Emilion 2014
"Bordeaux can often feel intimidating and hard to grasp. That all goes out the window here - merlot dominant with a good dose of cab franc bringing the party. Liquorice and tobacco roll over layers of blackcurrant and morello cherry. It’s unbelievable to think this is 10 years old, with so much life still to give."
Domaine Lemoule Coulanges Burgundy Pinot Noir 2023
"Crunchy redcurrant, white strawberry, a touch of orange rind aromatics, and a velvety rich palate. This really made me turn my head at the tasting bench, so I have no doubt it’ll impress once it's in your glass."
Sophie Schaal Alsace AOC Riesling 2023
"This rizza is picture-perfect Alsace: dry but fleshy, with white peach and dried ginger notes enveloping the citrus-driven core. A complete delight for the senses, and one that I’m always sure to stock in my home cellar."
Patrick Boivin Cuvée Icone Brut Premier Cru Champagne
"This is truly an icon. If you like serious Champagne, look no further. This walks the walk as good as it talks the talk. A blend of mostly pinot meunier, there’s notes of subtle red apple and strawberry note that compliments the tell-tale brioche and toast character we love from great champas. This says luxury in every sense of the word, and you’re worth spoiling."
