Why do we love this rum?
This iconic distillery has been operating out of the Dominican Republic since the Cuban revolution, but that hasn't changed their passion for tradition. Matusalem still produce rum in the same way they did way back in 1872, and their solera system of ageing means there's probably a small amount of liquid dating back decades, if not a century, in each bottle of their 15 year old rum. The dark, rich colour and caramelised fruit notes are testament to this hands-on approach to crafting fine spirits.
