Why do we love this case?
We can’t get enough of the King of Grapes. From bright and elegantly textured to piledriver power and raucously rich, this amazing selection is equally capable of brilliance in a blend or all on its own. This pack offers you a selection of six cabernets, there’s something unique about each one and each offers its own journey of discovery. Bow down to the King!
2x Magarey Lane Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Cassis and red currant right up front. Tannins grip the gums and arrest the mouth before some round, smooth oak work offers relief. This is a prime example of Coonawarra's reliability in delivering regional and varietal typicity: fresh red and black fruits into more briary, developed, darker fruit tones, followed by coffee, chocolate, cedar, and fruit-leather. This is a drink-some-hold-some wine for me, it's looking brilliant right now, but I can't help but wonder what excellence a few years in the cellar may bring...

2x Penley Estate Black Bull Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Guess who’s back and ready to go? One of our favourite Coonawarra producers, Penley Estate, has done the hard work to bring back this mofo fave drop. Aptly named, this robust cabernet packs a punch with strong, flavourful and classic Coonawarra characteristics we’ve all come to love and enjoy. Dark fruits of the black forest abound and surround the recogniseable cedary, minty core; while framed with superb mineral tannins that allow for youthful drinking while still earning a nook in your cellar over the next 10+ years.
You’d pay $50 full price.

2x Reschke Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Limestone Coast — Australia
South Australia’s Limestone Coast is not quite as famous as a few neighbouring regions, and as a result the value to be found there is staggering. At this price, get set for your mind to be blown. It’s got the trademark florality of your classic coonawarra cabs, although we’re talking more intense black forest fruits and pepper rather than your typical violets and berries. If you're anything like us, you'll be astounded at the value here.
You’d pay $25 full price.

2x Elysian Springs Marley Farm Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
It doesn’t get much more Aussie than a glass of Coonawarra cabernet, does it? We’re not one for stereotypes here, but a couple of snags on the barbeque and a glass of this will have you feeling some kinda patriotism. We’re clearly not the only ones who think it: I mean, how often do you find a highly rated wine on Vivino that’ll cost you less than the price of your desk lunch? You’re practically cheating the system with this one. Go on, do it- we won’t tell anyone.
You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Schild Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Barossa — Australia
Our Mofos can't get enough of this producer, with this super-generous cabernet, it's easy to see why. All the fruit, oak, tannin and acid that you could possibly need with a softenss and juciness that Barossa cabernet is famous for. A very well-put-together wine.
We've said it before and I will say it again: cabernet is Barossa’s little secret weapon; juicy and full-fruited over a muscular armature. It’s no cool climate cabernet with an empty mid-palate, needing merlot or shiraz to fill it. It fills its own midsection. It is its own beast. All the dark berries and blackcurrant of the variety, but reduced down, chocolatey and licoricey too. Fresh, structured, fleshy, punchy. So tasty.
You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Clairault Wines Halley + Lex Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Margaret River — Australia
This is one of those bottles you keep coming back to because it delivers each and every time and always stumps people when you tell them how much you paid. Cool and gentle fermentations allow a more controlled extraction of colour, flavour and tannin while 10 months of maturation in French oak finishes off the wine with all the trimming's we love. The hardest decision to make now is what food to pair with it, take our advice, this has Sunday roast written all over it.
You’d pay $22 full price.
