1x Hewitson Cask 66 Shiraz 2023
Red — Shiraz
Barossa Valley. — Barossa
The Boss
From one of our favourite Barossa producers, who have brought us multiple 98 and 99 pointed drops before, comes this incredible special release shiraz that will continue to improve for the next 20 years. Careful maturation in specially selected highest-grade French oak, followed by barrel selection of the finest juice, has helped craft this unparalleled expression of the country's top grape/region combination. Compellingly complex, the nose shows rich, ripe plums and bramble fruit with black cherries. Supporting is an excellent intermingling of charcuterie, black olives, cocoa and liquorice. The palate is simultaneously refined and powerful, with beautifully ripe tannins and a clean line of acidity supporting an incredibly long finish. This is premium Barossa at it's absolute best.

2x Craneford Basket Pressed Shiraz 2023
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Barossa
Craneford produce spectacular wines. There's no denying that. This is quintessential Barossa shiraz - a whole lot of Barossa legends are involved with this wonderfully expressive drop right the way from vine to bottle and the experience shows. Beautifully done. This wine is a stunning showcase of Barossa shiraz, crafted for pure enjoyment. The fruit is carefully sourced from highly-regarded Barossa vineyards, thanks to the winemakers' deep connections with growers of exceptional quality. That remarkable fruit delivers the wine’s purity, power, and drive. 2x Amelia Park Ironstone Shiraz 2023
Red — Shiraz
Frankland River — Barossa
This wine is, without doubt, one of the most popular we’ve ever seen at Vinomofo. How popular is popular, you ask? Well, thirsty Mofos took over 45,000 bottles of a previous vintage straight out of our hands. Yup. We know it’s a great wine deal but when our mofo members are this unanimous in their desire for this drop; well it’s simply cause for one big shiraz gluggin’ celebration. Full bodied and silky smooth with lashings of plums and earthy spice; if you’re quaffing this Frankland River gem on a week night, know you’re in good company alongside many a Mofo. With one fist in the air (and the other holding a glass of this wine) we salute you!

Tasting Notes
2x Hollick Red Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Barossa
This is jam packed full of black and red fruit - currants and raspberries mix with bramble and plums. The earthy and greener notes chime in late, backing up that initial fruit with some savoury depth. Classic Coonawarra - completely delicious. Estate fruit from the famed Hollick vineyards in Coonawarra, this is cab sauv like Aussies know and love. Certainly, a little bit of age behind this number has helped to fill out the mid palate, making it rich and dense with threads of fennel and mint throughout. It's very hard not to enjoy this wine - and we're speaking from experience.

Tasting Notes
1x Merite Malbec 2022
Red — Malbec
Wrattonbully — Barossa
This is a really big deal - 95 points from Halliday Wine Companion for an Australian Malbec is extraordinary - although not unexpected. Boysenberry, wild raspberry and prune plums reveal themselves slowly, backed by cardamom and dark chocolate spice. Deceptive in its exotic persona but built with serious structure to go the distance. Halliday describes it perfectly: "You need to peer into the depth of this wine to slowly unveil it." A swift decant helps reveal the complexity hiding within. Boysenberry, wild raspberry and prune plums provide the fruit foundation, while a plethora of spice adds intrigue. There's a snap of dark chocolate weaving through violet aromatics with mahogany, leather and cigar box nuances. A second sip will reveal even more layers: wild raspberry, red cherry and blackcurrant backed by hibiscus florals, minerality, and earthy complexity. The palate delivers perky acidity and dusty, well-integrated tannins with a sappy, raspberry lolly character that keeps drawing you back. In short: we're obsessed.

2x Starling Barossa Valley Shiraz 2023
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Barossa
Big, fruit-driven and rich, it hits every corner of your palate with pleasing intensity. The oak-imparted tannins make for a ripper time with some charred meat or veg, perfect for that easy weeknight in. Like a good book, wine is not all about what’s on the cover. But we have to say, when you’re getting great vino in some super sleek packaging, it’s a big bonus. This is a big & bold Barossa classic, that doesn't hurt the bank.

Tasting Notes
2x Thistledown Wild & Wilder Shiraz Cabernet 2022
Red — Shiraz Blend
South Australia — Barossa
This producer has never been the shy type, and this latest shiraz cabernet proves they're still up to no good - in the best possible way. Elegant, refined, but with that cheeky glint in the eye that says one more glass won’t hurt. It’s 90% shiraz swagger and 10% cabernet backbone - the perfect combo of lush black fruit, silky spice, and that little hit of cassis that keeps things interesting. Think rich berries, a hint of liquorice, a good lick of wood spice, and a finish smoother than a BB King solo.
You’d pay $20 full price.
