Why do we love this wine?
This is grounded in black cherry and bramble, with flashes of blueberry and plum freshness. A thread of bitter tannin underscores the fruit profile with savoury moreish-ness, and provides balance. Eight years in the cellar has allowed the tannin and acidity to mellow into the wine, but they have by no means disappeared, simply evolved and become more complex. So to have the fruit elements – they're deeply layered, changing shape in the glass as they drink in a little air. This is top notch cool climate shiraz, a category that's criminally under represented in Australian cellars.
